JOIN ME FOR A SUMMER ADVENTURE
There is no doubt about it; most of us bookworms are more of the introverted type, preferring a cosy night in with our book than a wild night out. We rather wouldn’t be bothered by the sun, the wind and the occasional fly while we are reading. And if you are anything like me ,you end up rather pale with a vitamin D deficiency.
So for my own sanity and health I have decided, English weather permitting, that I will get out more this summer and read outdoors. And to help me stick to my plans, I have enlisted the help of some of my fellow Bookstagrammers who throughout June and July will all be sharing their favourite outdoor reading spots as well as their favourite summer reads for some inspiration.

Coton Manor Garden
So to kick it off I am going to share with you one of my favourite spots to read in Northampton. One place I love is Coton Manor Gardens. A lot of my childhood memories are of running around this place with my sister and stalking the flamingos (yes, that’s right – FLAMINGOS!) It’s always been a relaxed and calming place for me. It’s so quiet and there are never too many distractions. There’s plenty of shade under trees and benches hidden in hedges for people like me who can’t stay in the sun for too long. There’s something pretty magical and whimsical about this place.
When it comes to outside photography Ramona always blows me away. Monologue, as she is known on Instagram also kindly shared with me some of her favourite outside spaces and here are my dream three locations that I am hoping to visit this Summer.
- Abbots Pool.
Bristol is just a hop skip and a jump away from where I study and has always been one of my favourite places despite me only visiting a few times. I love the hustle of the city, but I’d really love to go out and explore the treasures that lie outside it.
- Glenfinnan Viaduct.
The ‘Harry Potter Bridge’ in Scotland. Can you imagine reading with a view of the bridge featured in the Harry Potter films with stream trains driving past you? It is every book lover’s dream and its always been a dream of mine to visit Scotland!
The Cotswolds. I’ve always wanted to visit the Cotswolds too and I’m also a little bit obsessed with villages. Bibury is the place featured on the inside of British Passports. It’s also home to the William Morris Tea Room which sounds like paradise to me.
